Gleason Archer, New International Encyclopedia of Bible Difficulties Gleason Archer and Gregory Chirichigno, Old Testament Quotations in the New Testament: A Complete Survey Archer explains that Old Testament prophecies appear to be misquoted by the New Testament writers due to the fact that words can have multiple meanings, and the challenge of the translator is to figure out which meaning best fits the context. Archer then shows that the real problem lies with modern translators of the Old and New Testaments, who do not coordinate their translations of the Hebrew texts of the prophecies in the Old Testament and of the parallel New Testament passages where they are quoted. A Little Primer on Humble Apologetics Thomas Sowell, Preferential Policies: An International Perspective . Thomas Sowell, one of the great scholars at our time who at the Hoover Institution at Stamford University, has been prolific in researching and publishing scholarly works about numerous cultural, ethical, racial, and economic issues facing our culture. This work is one of the most important of those works. Sowell traveled around the entire world studying what we in America call affirmative action in cultures all around the world. This book which compiles the results of that research totally destroys any reality based argument in favor of affirmative action. In it, Sowell shows that treating certain ethnic groups with either favor or disfavor to accommodate past injustices is nothing new or progressive. Rather, it has been practiced for centuries all over the world. And wherever it has been practiced, there all consequences that have occurred in every case: 1) it has not been a temporary corrective, but it never is brought to an end, 2) it has increased hostility between ethnic groups, and after enough time results in ethnic conflicts, 3) rather than increasing respect by the lareger community for the ability of the “favored” ethnic group, it instead has resulted in those within the “favored” group who are truly accomplished to have their achievements disrespected as being only the results of special treatment, and 4) rather than benefiting those that the policy was intended to help, it has hurt their ability to succeed socially and economically. Not only have proponents of Affirmative Action never answered this amazing challenge to the mistaken efforts of affirmative action. huge advantages of a value added tax over the income tax system for the overall

written on the topic, and criticisms of the concept only seem valid to people
who have never read this work.

the Christian faith, but his work requires some college level familiarity with

In this work, Craig examines the evidence from the universe both for theism and
for theism. A very telling work that shows in light of modern cosmology that
atheism requires far more leaps of faith contra the evidence than does theism.

in which Crews, professor of literature at UCLA, demonstrates the reasons that
the methodological approach of modern theologians such as form criticism and
redaction criticism have been rejected in the world of literature and middle
eastern studies: they lead to absurd consequences in interpreting a text.
Crews does this in successive chapters by having people of different
philosophical agendas (Marxists, Freudians, etc.) interpret the real message of
“Winnie the Pooh”, all the while missing the primary and obvious point that
“Winnie the Pooh” is first and foremost a book for children. Also,

This is the classic work by the great professor of history at The University of
Ultrecht, The Netherlands, on the Christian worldview being the foundation of
the development of the scientific method and of the scientific revolution. It
powerfully and overwhelmingly refutes the political correctness and false

between science and the Christian religion, showing instead how the scientific

apologist’s seemingly random musings about the relationship of reason to faith
in God which had been passed down to us as Pense’ has both intrigued and
frustrated readers for several centuries. His thoughts are so provocative and
challenging, but many readers they had also seemed contradictory as Pascal at
one moment is praising reason as the only sure path to knowledge, and the next
moment he is talking of the limits of reason and the necessity of faith. What
many readers through the ages had not understood is that Pascal was a committed
Christian apologist who frequently presented lectures on the intellectual
foundation of the Christian faith. What the editor has done in Reason On
Fire is to take the seemingly random thoughts found in Pense’, and he
has organized them according to the surviving outlines of Pascal’s apologetic
lectures. The result is a powerful and challenging rational defense of the
Christian faith.

Lands archaeologist, Ron Price, is an extremely valuable addendum to Edwin
Yamauchi’s THE STONES AND THE SCRIPTURES, and it adds a number of additional
important archaeological discoveries during the last 15 years of the 20th
century that have further substantiated the historical reliability of the
Bible. However, unlike THE STONES AND THE SCRIPTURES, it suffers somewhat from
a desire to be academically politically correct, giving undue regard (undue
because of the lack of evidence) to archaeological skeptics of the Bible.

and worldviews that clearly demonstrates how Christianity is unique and how it
is totally different from all the other world religions. It refutes the
silly but common idea that all religions are saying the same thing or are

This work was a bombshell in the scientific community because it destroyed the
so called evidence for primordial evolution from ocean chemicals to one-celled
